Robot run No.1! The first robot run was commanded by John and Jacob. This run seemed to go well as we, after we had counted up our points, were placed 5th on the leader-board. When we had packed our robot up we headed back to the pit area were we all had lunch and chatted about things such as how we thought the competition was going so far. Soon enough it was time for robot presentation and core values presentation which went reasonably well. Robot run No.2! This time it was Sam and Louis turn on the robot table. Sam and Louis were very unfortunate and the robot didn’t turn on properly so they couldn’t do the run. However, the head robot judge said that they would get another go in around 25 minutes. When the 25 minutes had passed Sam and Louis ran the robot and scored us a new high score! After this we had a short break then it was Jacob’s and John’s turn at Robot Run No.3. Yet again, they scored another high score of 340 which bumped us up to 2nd place behind Mad Hatters!
When we had finished the robot run, we started pumping up balloons ready for the balloon parade. We all decided to use the balloons to make Elsie into what looked like a bee. After all of us feeling a bit deflated from blowing up so many balloons, it was time for the knockout rounds of the robot runs. This time it was Sam and Louis turn once more. The robot run went reasonably well, but we didn’t score enough points to go through to the quarter-finals.
The Award Ceremony was nigh! After waiting about 15 minutes, we all headed to the main hall ready for the awards ceremony! The first trophy awarded to us was for 2nd place Highest Robot score. Then they did 1st place Robot high score which went to the Mad Hatters. They awarded all the trophies for core-values, project, and robot design, then “The Champions Award!” After awarding the 2nd place champions trophy, we were called up for 1st place champions trophy. So Tech HEds had kept their legacy and yet again won THE CHAMPIONS AWARD!
