When we’d done a site survey, we walked back to the Hares’ home for a talk about the project, have lunch, and be visited by one of Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council’s Building Control Surveyors. Whilst we were having lunch, we did a core value exercise called ‘two truths and a lie’ which is very interesting because it reveals information about your teammates that you may not know and helps us to get to know each other better. After lunch had finished, the building surveyor came, and we presented our ideas to him; his expertise is in construction and building safety. He shared some information with us about the ground surrounding the building and what would need to be done to give our solution the biggest impact and prolong the life of the building.
After lunch and our meeting, we revisited the ice rink. Here we decided to get our skates on with the project – just kidding – we went ice skating – YAY! To complete our core value – fun, we decided that a little spin on the ice wouldn’t do anyone any harm. We managed to discover some of the team member'
s natural talents for ice skating. Three people who had never set foot on an ice pad were gliding around like they went there every day! What!!!
