We arrived at the University of the West of England for the National Finals on Sunday morning expecting to have a good day. I didn't dare hope that we would do as well as we did. The first robot round went well, scoring 211 points out of 229. That would have won us the day anyway, but there was a mistake somewhere in between the referee and the score board, which showed our score as 231. Peter D got into the studio for an interview and told them, but they said it was alright as it didn't make any difference. Our project presentation went really well, and we thought the judges seemed fairly impressed. Our second robot round was a little disappointing, as we only got around 150. In the third round the robot froze. We had to take the battery out and put it back in again to get it working again, so we only scored 9 points in that round, but the first round had already sent us sailing comfortably into the quarter finals in first place.

We're all very excited as the big day draws closer and closer.
As the robot is now all buttoned down and ready, today we all worked on the project presentation, followed by the core values presentation, next we went through the robot design presentation, and finally the project presentation again. Roll on Sunday! John H Team Member The Nationals are becoming scarily imminent. In the morning we went through the presentation, which is getting a lot better, a few times, and reviewed our core values examples. Then, in the afternoon, Mathew, Peter H, and John H worked on the robot changeovers, which were very successful. We also worked on the core vales poster.
John H, Team member Today we worked on our lines for the presentation, and also on the robot game. We showed each other our progress on the robot programming from the previous weeks homework. We also checked out the judges forms from the Regional competition.
