MTA has now been finished in time for the Christmas break. Team 1 worked very hard to be able to finish that mission trip and are very happy to have it finished. Team 2 are working hard on MTD too and hope to get it finished on the 3rd of January which is our next session. Team 3 (Sam) is working on MTC and it is going well too and we hope to get lots more work done before the competition. As for the project, we learned the project presentation as homework last week, and today we read it through and made some edits to it. For the team exercise this week we had to try and work out a puzzle to do with numbers. We are having a Christmas break over the next two weeks.

In August, some of the Hydrodynamics Team put together a video to compete in the Engineers of the Future film competition. The competition was open to those UK teams who reached international competitions last year. As one of the winners of the competition, we were one of five teams selected to attend an event at the Houses of Parliament to celebrate the Year of Engineering on Wednesday.
The other teams were GLIC, who won the Champion's Award at the Nationals; L20, who won the Robot at the Regionals; Steve-E-3, who joined us in Estonia; and End_Tec. We arrived at around 11am, and took the opportunity to have a look around. We saw the Speaker enter the Commons with the Mace, and the two Peters also saw Committee Room 14, where the Conservatives later had a vote of confidence in Theresa May. After we went in to set up, we were spoken to by several people, including people from the IET, LEGO, the MoD, the DoT, and some MPs, including our MP's personal assistant. The organisers of the Year of Engineering gave some speeches, but they were directed at MPs and partners of the Year of Engineering, so they were somewhat uninteresting to us. The leader of GLIC also gave a short speech, which was more intriguing. After we packed up, our MP's apprentice gave us a short tour of the Palace of Westminster, culminating in a visit to the Commons Gallery. Unfortunately, we arrived just as all the big names were leaving, but we did see some of them. The IET's photos of the day can be found at www.flickr.com/photos/iet/sets/72157674473445677. Peter H Former Team Leader The project presentation is now ready to learn as John H has now finished working on it just in time to learn it over Christmas. We are very happy that the project has got to this stage before Christmas. For homework we are to memorize the project presentation enough before next session so that we only need a few prompts. The teams for the robot have now changed:
