Saturday was the UK and Ireland National Final. The robot performed reasonably well on the mat, coming eighth place overall. We made it to the knockouts, but didn't make it past the first round. Overall, our highest-scoring round was the first one, with a slightly disappointing 175 points out of our target of 255. The Project made up for this with a HUGE success, acheiving the highest points possible in every section; we suspect we won the project by a significant margin. Also, two very interested moderator judges came out of the room after the time was up to ask some extra questions! We got the first place award in Project, which came with invitations to International competitions in Hungary, Estonia, and the U.S.A. We do not know how we did in the Core Values and Robot Design Presentations, as they were only commented, not marked. We do, however suspect that we were very successful in each. The day itself was a great experience, with 54 teams there. We meet on Thursday to discuss our next steps.

Today was our last session before the Nationals! We were mainly working on the robot, but we also practiced the Robot Design, Project, and Core Values Presentations a lot. There were also quite a few last minute improvements to be made to the Robot game and presentation.
