More progress was made on the robot this Thursday, our 3rd open meeting for new members. Annie and Josh were working on the robot strategy in the morning and completed it while Nathan and Samuel D continued their building with Herbie, and also Josh, when the strategy was finished. Joseph, Sophie, and Keziah built a training robot with which they went through some programming lessons. Rufus, and Samuel A also built and programmed another training robot with Annie helping them when the strategy was done. Near the end of the day we gathered around the table to discuss the project. We shared the ideas and thoughts we had for problems, and some possible solutions. Tidying up the Lego concluded the day from which we gained a lot.

This week the focus was on starting to:
(a) Design and build a robot (b) Think about the project Besides Annie, Josh, the possible new members who came were Samuel, Sophie, Joseph, and Nathan. Nathan and Samuel began building their own design for a robot, with Annie helping a bit, while the other three thought about robot strategy. The glorious weather meant we could eat lunch outside before Samuel and Nathan hurried back indoors to continue work on their robot designs, while the others finished their lunch break. During the afternoon work was much the same as the morning until near the end of the session when we sat down to think about the project and were given our homework. Annie Team Member Today was the first meeting of the Replay season when we build the new mission models. Members Annie and Josh were joined by Louis. (Louis who is leaving as he is relocating, was allowed to come because he missed this day last year). We also welcomed four possible new members, Samuel, Sophie, Matt, and Joseph. After explaining how First Lego League works, it was lunchtime so we ate our lunch and chatted. We then played around with the Lego EV3 and NXT sensors and motors. Soon the coach allowed us to open the box containing the mat and Lego pieces for building the mission models. With the bags of pieces sorted out we set to work in four teams:
